My Projects

Each course "sprint" I managed had it's own slack community consisting anywhere from 700-2500 individuals in it. I was tasked with creating the content, building out workflows, and ensuring the retention and completion met above 80% to ensure investor happiness.

We also built out the larger community that was designed to be more than just a focused community for the topic at hand. The larger community had 27,000 users in it and was consistently at 31% active user rate.

The community is global and spanned across various countries, cultures and businesses.

Managing the community

Creating events that centered around the topic being taught was always my favorite. The targeted audience for SectionSchool were individuals already in their careers wanting to upskill in certain business areas. Events ranged from AMAs with the instructors, virtual meetups to create a rich community, hot topics/Fire side chats, and more. I would create 3 meetups for each course that we would run. Average attendance across events was 28%

Part of managing the community was keeping them up to date with all things that involved their course, from TA Office hours, to resources that enhanced their learning, to the meetups (we will get to that next), to summarizing some highlighted conversations with in the Slack community that were impactful and useful to know as they went through the course. These email campaigns were created with the goal of maintaining open communication, and fostering the community on a more personal level. The open rate averaged 62%.

The community will tell you everything you need to know to build the best product. I would implement a feedback look throughout the entirety of the course. Recieivng feedback from the events, course content, community, etc. This feedback was designed to help build out the product more effectively  and define big bets and pivots that we are excited to tackle each quarter.
